Population

  • Exclusion

    • Bicuspid aortic valve

    • Patients with genetic risk factors (Marfan, Loeys-Dietz syndrome, etc.)

    • Family history of aortopathy

Important Notes

  • Method for measuring the aorta

    • Ideally, favor double oblique reconstructions

    • Alternative:

      • The aortic root can be measured on coronal reconstructions

      • The remainder of the aorta can be measured on coronal and sagittal reconstructions

Additional Notes

  • Recommendations for patients with aortic dilation: blood pressure control and smoking cessation

  • When a consultation is necessary, a referral to an aortic clinic is ideal (CHUM, ICM, CUSM, IUCPQ).
